The winter season could be probably the most hazardous season to your skin. The cold and dry atmosphere could easily dry up the natural moisture on your skin.
Once your natural moisturizing factory shuts down then it's a big welcome sign to all type of skin blemishes most notably acne.
Once you are in that conundrum, you rush to a nearby medical store to get some expensive over-the-counter skin solutions to repair your skin damage. The problem is that these products go a long way to fighting acne and dry skin.
These products don't really hydrate the skin from inside out. Most likely two bad things can happen. You lose your money buying an expensive skin solution and it could probably be one that may not be suitable for your skin thus worsening your skin condition.
In order to have an extra supple skin, you can simply obtain items right from your kitchen cabinet. There are definitely a money saver and a very safe way to treat your skin.
As the old saying goes, you are what you eat. You can make eating foods that keep your skin supple and smooth easy and delicious at the same time. Below I've listed nine very common items to nourish your dry skin. This is also a very good and natural way to prevent acne.
1. Water
As much as the earth is covered by seventy per cent of water so it is nearly as much in the human body. So it's really very paramount to keep our body well hydrated at all times for water is our natural fuel.
The way to do that is just by simply drinking lots of water daily. Water helps with skin circulation and it delivers nutrients to skin cells. It makes your skin appear firmer and make it act as a shield to your entire body.
Water also helps to circulate blood and thus constantly delivers oxygen to your muscles. Do not just wait till you feel thirsty to drink water. You must keep drinking throughout the day but also not too much of it.
The first tell-tale signs of your body in need of water are dry lips and dry palms. So you need to be aware of that and listen to your body.
2. Avocado
This fruit definitely needs a mention here. It has a wonderful source of vitamins in C, E and contains monounsaturated fats. They are fatty acids which are medically proven to be healthy fats.
These fats actually help your skin trap moisture and promote the elasticity of your skin. The best way to add avocado to your diet is to eat it drizzled with olive oil and salt or you can even add some to salads and sandwiches.
