The short period after childbirth is known as postpartum; not to be confused with postpartum depression- which is not experienced by every women who gives birth to a child or children. Postpartum occurs during the first six weeks after childbirth and is the state in which a new mom's body heals and recovers.
During this time of postpartum, it is crucial to care for your body by eating a healthy diet, exercising often, getting plenty of sleep and taking a prenatal vitamin; yes, even after giving birth.
As a new mom, you are bound to be busy. It is important to remember to eat a healthy diet and we offer to you the suggestion of purchasing healthy snacks that can be grabbed on the go. For instance, rice cakes, nuts, dried fruits, fresh vegetables and juices that are full of vitamins and other nutrients. Consider light exercising such as; walking, jogging, jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-up, crunches and/or cardiovascular and aerobic exercises.
After giving birth, it is difficult for a new mom to find the time needed for quality sleep. In order for the process of sleep to rejuvenate and revitalizes our bodies, we must fall into a deep sleep known as REM (Rapid Eye Movement). Due to this factor, it is important to ensure that your body is receiving adequate each night.
During pregnancy majority of our vital nutrients are lost. In order to restore these nutrients, it is suggested to continue taking a prenatal vitamin for an additional six weeks. This will help to improve the conditions of the skin, nails and hair.

Here's an Effective Treatment Alternative for Acne and Unpleasant Scars

Different Type of Laser Treatments:
Blue Light Therapy:
Blue light therapy targets the Propionibacterium that causes bacterial growth as well as inflammation. The procedure eliminates the Propionibacterium acnes and stops the growth of bacteria. The procedure involves a set of treatments in which the skin is exposed to low intensity blue light from the laser device. However, it involves some side effects such as skin redness and dryness.
Pulsed Light and Heat Therapy:
The second type of laser treatment involves pulsed light and heat therapy, which aims at eliminating P. acnes as well as shrinking the sebaceous glands. This causes a decrease in the production of oil and consequently reduces acne. The procedure however causes redness and dryness of the skin.
Diode Laser Therapy:
Another type of laser for acne treatment involves diode laser therapy. This therapy aims at destroying the sebaceous glands, which is situated in the middle layer of the skin. When these glands produce excess oils, it triggers acne breakouts. Once destroyed, these glands stop secreting oil, thus preventing an outbreak of zits. However, this procedure can be quite discomforting.
Fractional CO2 Laser:
Fractional CO2 laser is the latest in skin care technology. It is considered as the gold standard procedure for treating acne, scars, pigmentation, stretch marks; photo aged skin, and dull skin tone and texture, on both the face and body. The CO2 fractional laser makes tiny microscopic holes in the skin, into the dermis, while leaving the surrounding skin intact. These microscopic holes cause the production of new collagen, which fills the scars and generates rejuvenated and smoother skin.
Fractional CO2 laser for acne treatment is one of the most effective and sought after laser procedures available in the market today. The longer wavelength of the CO2 laser allows deeper penetration, which helps in skin exfoliation and rejuvenation. Most patients can notice a visible improvement in as early as one week after the procedure. The results continue to improve over the next couple of months.
Advantages of Laser Treatment:
· An effective remedy for treating acne and the scarring caused due to it
· Clearer skin, healthier and more radiant skin
· Enhances the production of new skin cells
· Generates results in fewer sessions with shorter recovery time
· Safe, comfortable and non-invasive procedure
· Minimal or no downtime
· Eliminates the need for oral medication
Oral medications and topical creams can be used to control an outbreak of pimples, but they could dry or irritate sensitive skin and not prove to be as effective as laser treatment. Also, acne that occurs on the chest and back can be difficult to treat using topical applications. On the other hand, laser treatment is a safe and effective alternative that can provide permanent results. Although the cost for laser therapy is more than other treatments, the result it provides makes it worth the money spent.

Acne Vulgaris Treatment Best Occurs From Within

Acne vulgaris is a skin condition that affects millions all over the world, particularly teenagers with their hormones in overdrive.
Now, while some take acne vulgaris in their stride and move on with life the usual way, for many it becomes a predicament too much to bear. Eventually, they start worrying obsessively about their acne affliction day in and day out, paying little heed to other everyday activities. Naturally, by this stage, it is clear that acne has completely taken over the lives of such people.
Keeping this aspect in mind, it is really very important to remember that acne can be treated relatively easily, that too in completely natural and simple ways. Further, one of the most important aspects to remember for all those suffering from acne is that it is best treated when treated from within, and not externally. Otherwise, the treatment remains only a temporary cure, till the next acne outburst, and not a permanent solution to the acne problem.
With this fact firmly entrenched in our minds, let us now look at some natural ways in which acne vulgaris can be prevented from occurring in the first place.
Maintaining Clean Skin
One of the first steps to preventing acne vulgaris is to ensure clean skin at all times, at least to the greatest extent possible. Otherwise, it is a known fact that dirty skin is the perfect breeding ground for acne.
This is especially true when dirt and grime combine with oily skin, especially if you happen to have naturally oily skin. So if you already have rather oily skin, it becomes even more important that you pay careful attention to keeping your skin clean and dry.
Skin Friendly Diet
Perhaps the most important aspects of preventing acne would be to ensure a diet which is skin friendly. Now, a skin friendly diet of course has various aspects attached to it. First up, we find that most foods high in their sugar content are not skin friendliness quotient at all. This would particularly include artificial sugars as contained in desserts, colas, candies and so on, as opposed to natural sugars like in fruits, which of course is good for your entire body.
So when it comes to a skin friendly diet, the first step would be to avoid artificial sugars.
In the same breath, it has been seen that fresh fruits and vegetables make a world of difference as far as preventing acne is concerned, so make sure that your diet plan maximizes the intake of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Avoiding Stress and Regulating Sleeping Hours
While in our adolescence, we often indulge ourselves to an extent where we end up being stressed, say about our tests and examinations, while also compromising on our sleep. Unknowingly, this has a poor effect on our skin, often leading to acne.
So a key factor in preventing acne from within would be to avoid stress and regulate sleeping hours.
Conclusion
The initiatives highlighted above can clearly go a long way in preventing acne vulgaris from within.
There are numerous acne vulgaris treatment techniques which we can all follow rigorously to easily prevent acne. Following these techniques can also help us avoid expensive and complex artificial acne vulgaris treatment procedures.

Acne Scar Removal - How Cocoa Butter Works for You

Most often, teen acne remains annoyingly active for a period of time and then subsides. But, before you can heave a sigh of relief, you begin to notice the marks left behind by acne breakouts. Needless to say, acne scars give a nightmarish experience, so what should you do at this stage? You may become self-critical thinking that you could have prevented acne in the first place. But, you must remember that acne is a universal problem, and not all are able to fight it before it occurs. Of course, there are some effective ways to treat acne scars. Let's talk about cocoa butter - a flavorful way to treat acne marks!
What makes cocoa butter good for the skin? Its moisturizing property helps remove acne marks. In fact, regular use of any moisturizer improves scar reduction. Moisturizing softens the scar tissue and realigns collagen fibers to promote healing. Massaging is very important as it can set off a healing process by breaking the scar tissue. Cocoa butter is known for its use in a number of primitive ointments for cosmetic purposes. It has been an important home remedy used by women to eliminate stretch marks. It is an emollient and contains important health-giving ingredients like omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant. Including these ingredients in your diet can be more effective as naturally beautiful skin comes from a wholesome approach.
How do you use cocoa butter for treating acne scars? Before applying it, it is best to scrub your skin mildly with a wash cloth to exfoliate dead skin cells. Then, cleanse with a mild soap and rinse well. Apply the cocoa butter on the spots. Following this on a daily basis will bring a noticeable difference. It is better to use natural cocoa butter as commercial products tend to contain harsh chemicals that may have an irritating effect on your skin. By helping your skin retain moisture, cocoa butter helps tissues to regrow. It also forms a protective layer against harsh weather that can dry or damage your skin.
There is an important caution about using this effective solution for skin care. Never use it on skin affected by acne - it is only recommended for use after the acne has cleared and marks are left. Dermatologists say that you must avoid using greasy lotions and creams like cocoa butter or petroleum jelly when acne conditions exist. The reason is that these products augment the oiliness of your skin and clog the pores - oily skin is the root cause of acne! In other words, such products will worsen your acne. So, using it on unhealed acne is ill-advised. And, even while resorting to cocoa butter for scar treatment, make sure that you're not allergic to the product.
Cocoa butter is extracted from cocoa bean, the same ingredient used in chocolates. Isn't it tempting to use a product that is distinguished by a lingering flavor of chocolate? And youngsters looking for acne scar remedies after that tough acne breakout-phase may well try this!

Introduction to Acne Problems

What is Acne?
Acne (acne vulagaris) is a common skin disorder that affects nearly 100 million people worldwide. Regardless of age, acne is commonly found in adolescents undergoing puberty as the new hair follicles tend to get clogged beneath the surface of the skin. This certainly does not rule out acne affecting women and men likewise, as many people of all age groups and skin types suffer symptoms of acne globally.
Some forms of acne are often mistaken or perhaps associated with Seborrheic dermatitus, being relative to having scaly and flaky skin. This is common after acne sufferers administer strong doses of medicinal strength prescriptions, as they can cause adverse effects if not used properly. Thus, resembling symptoms similar to Seborrheic dermatitus, as the treated skin becomes dry, flaky, scaly, and discolored.
While there are several terms used to define and identify specific types of acne, the most common are as follows:
• Acne vulgaris (cystic acne or simply acne)
• Seborrhea (scaly red skin)
• Comedones (blackheads and whiteheads)
• Papules (pinheads)
• Pustules (pimples)
• Nodules (large papules)
• Cysts (large nodules or boils)
Acne is most commonly located on the face, neck, back, arms, and buttocks, as these areas are more prone to release the secretions of oils, collect bacteria, amass hair follicles, and produce sweat which tends to open these pores making these areas susceptible to multiple toxins which are known to cause skin blockages, leading to various forms of acne.
Acne has also been considered as a potential sign that the health of the body could be suffering from other toxic bacteria possibly in the liver, kidneys, and these infections being carried through the blood cells, is believed to result in acne breakouts.
Speculations are often asserted that certain greasy foods and ones dietary intake may also be a major factor in causing certain types of acne.
Working to rid acne can be a tedious process as it can also lead to inner-complexity issues, depression, or in severe cases even suicide.
The best defense against acne is to arm yourself with knowledge, and test several proven methods that have worked for others until you find a treatment and prevention regiment that works best for you and your skin type.
What Causes Acne?
Most forms of acne are caused when the sebaceous follicles become infected, clogged, or contaminated. In most cases common acne occurs when excessive sebum oil collects around the hair follicles, or from toxins collecting in the pores becoming infected by dead skin, bacteria, or the body's natural acidic waste.
Normally, the body's sebaceous glands are designed to release specific amounts of sebum oil which is excreted from the pores and rises to the skin's surface. The body's natural release of sebum oil helps the skin to remain moist and semi-lubricated, and in turn protects your skin from many of the harmful or harsh elements in the environment.
Once pores become blocked, oil becomes trapped beneath the skin which can no longer be excreted through the skin as normal, leading to blockages. As a result, these areas can become inflamed or infected, which can lead to blemishes, spotting, or the formulation of pimples.
As conditions below the skin worsen, the body still attempts to naturally excrete more oils, and as such, the excess oil builds pressure beneath the skin, causing greater infections known as boils, or cystic acne.
Often, when a blockage occurs the pressure can cause the pores inner walls to explode under the skin surface, forcing the body's white blood cells to move in, in an attempt to absorb the collagen from within the pores of your skin. When this takes place, the results can lead to blemishes in the skin, scarring, or eventually pockmarks.
Acne Prevention
When treated early, the chances of infection or severe acne scarring is greatly reduced. General prevention can be accomplished through a disciplined daily cleansing regiment, such as using a quality cleansing program, and/or in conjunction with a topical acne cream to prevent the follicles and pores from becoming clogged after cleanings. Employing these measures can greatly reduce the risk of causing further damage to the treated area.
Ultimately, identifying the severity of the problem and obtaining knowledge about the specific types of acne and treatments available can be the best defense against acne. Understanding the specific type of acne and proper treatment regiment can assist in the prevention of future breakouts, while minimizing the chances of pockmarks or permanent scarring.
When acne is identified and addressed early, before pimples become severely infected and bursting takes place under the skin, acne scarring can usually be prevented, and save further damage from taking place. Especially, when the appearance of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads) become noticeable, as these can become easily infected, leading to more severe cases of cystic acne, which can often cause pockmarks or permanent scars.
While acne can be a very complicated issue to resolve, many sufferers undergo multiple treatments before finding the solution which works best for their skin type. It goes without saying acne really doesn't discriminate, and affects numerous age groups, skin types and is not always due to poor hygiene or diet as often suggested.
Most types of acne can be treated with proper cleansing, home remedies, and over the counter topical acne creams over a period of weeks or even months before resolving the problem. In severe cases, it is suggested sufferers seek professional care, and contact a dermatologist for stronger prescription medications.
As an acne sufferer myself, I am passionate in educating and providing preventative solutions to fellow acne sufferers, such as; investigating and exploiting proven home remedies, topical ointment applications, holistic medicines, and known solutions to help prevent, and cure acne.

Tea Tree Oil As a Treatment for Acne

Recent scientific research has shown that tea tree oil is possibly a very effective remedy against acne. Although one with a slower onset of action, patients who use it, report fewer side effects than those who use the standard chemical treatments. But what is tea tree oil?
It is a nearly colorless and clear essential oil with a bitter-fresh smell. It should not be confused with tea oil, the cooking oil from pressed seeds of the tea plant, not with tea oil plant. The tea tree is native to the coasts of New South Wales in Australia, where the Bundjalung people have been using it as a traditional medicine for centuries.
They inhale vapour from the oils from the crushed leaves to treat coughs and colds. They also sprinkle leaves on wounds, after which a poultice is applied. Also, tea tree leaves are soaked to make an infusion to treat sore throats or to be applied as skin treatment.
The use of the oil as such, as opposed to plant material, did not become commonplace until researcher Arthur Penfold published his first papers on its antimicrobial activity of this plant in the 1920s and 1930s. In evaluating its antimicrobial activity, tea tree oil was rated as ten times more active than phenol.
Most of the scientific studies on this oil however, are quite recent. They do support the use of this oil in skin care as well as for the treatment of various diseases and conditions. It appears to be effective against bacteria, viruses, fungal infections, mites and head lice. A 2008 study of showed that a tea tree oil preparation was more effective against head lice than permethrin, a popular pharmaceutical remedy. Some sources suggest beneficial medical properties when applied topically, including antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic qualities. As an antifungal agent, it is very effective against different types of skin problems. Shampoo with 5% tea tree oil, for instance, is an effective treatment for dandruff. The antiseptic properties can help in the fight against skin blemishes such as acne. As a consequence, there is also numerous interesting application of tea tree oil in cosmetics.
The commercial oil industry was born after discovery of the medicinal properties by Penfold in the 1920s. It was produced from natural bush stands that produced oil with the appropriate chemotype. The plant material was cut by hand and often distilled on the spot. Production waned after 1945, as demand for the oil declined, presumably due to the development of chemical antibiotics. As part of the general rebirth of interest in natural products, commercial plantations were established again in the 1970s and 1980s. This led to mechanization and large-scale production of a consistent essential oil product.

Nine Best Foods To Keep Your Dry Skin Nourished

The winter season could be probably the most hazardous season to your skin. The cold and dry atmosphere could easily dry up the natural moisture on your skin.
Once your natural moisturizing factory shuts down then it's a big welcome sign to all type of skin blemishes most notably acne.
Once you are in that conundrum, you rush to a nearby medical store to get some expensive over-the-counter skin solutions to repair your skin damage. The problem is that these products go a long way to fighting acne and dry skin.
These products don't really hydrate the skin from inside out. Most likely two bad things can happen. You lose your money buying an expensive skin solution and it could probably be one that may not be suitable for your skin thus worsening your skin condition.
In order to have an extra supple skin, you can simply obtain items right from your kitchen cabinet. There are definitely a money saver and a very safe way to treat your skin.
As the old saying goes, you are what you eat. You can make eating foods that keep your skin supple and smooth easy and delicious at the same time. Below I've listed nine very common items to nourish your dry skin. This is also a very good and natural way to prevent acne.
1. Water
As much as the earth is covered by seventy per cent of water so it is nearly as much in the human body. So it's really very paramount to keep our body well hydrated at all times for water is our natural fuel.
The way to do that is just by simply drinking lots of water daily. Water helps with skin circulation and it delivers nutrients to skin cells. It makes your skin appear firmer and make it act as a shield to your entire body.
Water also helps to circulate blood and thus constantly delivers oxygen to your muscles. Do not just wait till you feel thirsty to drink water. You must keep drinking throughout the day but also not too much of it.
The first tell-tale signs of your body in need of water are dry lips and dry palms. So you need to be aware of that and listen to your body.
2. Avocado
This fruit definitely needs a mention here. It has a wonderful source of vitamins in C, E and contains monounsaturated fats. They are fatty acids which are medically proven to be healthy fats.
These fats actually help your skin trap moisture and promote the elasticity of your skin. The best way to add avocado to your diet is to eat it drizzled with olive oil and salt or you can even add some to salads and sandwiches.
3. Fish
Fish contains omega-3 fats which strengthen skin cells. It helps to protect our skin from the UV ray of the sun light and even prevent cancer. It also helps to reduce inflammation of the skin.
There are so many fish species in the world. But which are the ones that really are beneficial to our skins when consumed? I'll name a few of them here.
Salmon, herring, sardines, mackerel, anchovies and rainbow trout all does amazing stuff for your skin. There are some fish which contains high in selenium particularly in tuna fish. Selenium preserves elastin in your skin and so helps them to stay supple, smooth and tight.
You can add the above mentioned fishes in your diet in any way you want. The best it to steam or boil them before consumption. Never eat them fried.
4. Orange Veggies
Veggies that have yellow and orange pigmentations are rich in beta-carotene. They are notoriously friendly for our skins. It acts as an antioxidant which helps fight dry skin and protect from harmful sun rays and pollutant environments.
These veggies notably contain vitamins A and C which are essential in helping to repair our body tissues and produce collagen. The best way to consume these veggies is to cook them because they deliver more beta-carotene when cooked.
You can try roasting or sautéing them. Sauteeing is a method whereby you use a small amount of oil in a shallow pan over relatively high heat. The veggies worth mentioning are sweet potatoes, apricots, carrots, cantaloupe, red peppers, mangoes, pumpkin and papaya.
5. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This oil comes as an all-purpose beauty product. Olive oil is produced by grinding the whole olives and extracting the oil that comes from it. It's a fat obtained from the olive itself.
It comes in abundance of vitamin E and good fats. If eaten, it will help to moisturize the skin from the inside and out if applied as topical. Its benefits don't stop there. It can do wonders for your hair making them healthy, strong and give a nice shine to it. The same applies to your finger nails too.
You can use it as a substitute for butter or margarine in dressings, recipes and also for sautéing.
6. Spinach & Leafy Greens
Green vegetables especially the darker ones are power-packed naturally with plenty of iron, omega-4 fatty acids, vitamins A, B and E. All these natural elements are known to protect skin and improve your immune system.
Even the chemical forms found in spinach and other leafy greens act as antioxidants. Namely phytochemicals and folates help to hydrate skin and keep it in the pink of health.
There are many ways to cook and eat them. One of the best ways is to steam them and eat as a side dish. You may also enjoy it with a salad sprinkled with olive oil alongside with avocado. Roast if you must, then go for sturdier greens like kale.
7. Nuts & Seeds
You name it and you got it. Nuts and seeds have all the nutrients you need packed in them. They mainly contain omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, B and E, minerals and monounsaturated fats and in addition to that a host of antioxidants.
All these will help to hydrate your skin and promote elasticity. Other benefits include regenerating of body cells and offering protection against pollutants and free radicals.
Notably flax seeds and flax seed oil are rich in fiber and they contain omega-6 linolic acids which help to break down prostaglandin. They are especially well-known to be used in weight-loss programs.
Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts all contain these multiple combinations of healthy pro-skin ingredients. Ways to consume them are limitless.
You can enjoy eating them as a snack in moderation as they are calorie-dense. You can bake them into muffins, sprinkle them on yogurt and cereals for flavor and even add them as toppings for popular dishes like roasted chicken or fish.
8. Fruit
They need no introduction. Fruits have always been the mainstay for a healthy lifestyle. Fruits especially those which are water-dense tropical ones helps to hydrate and protect your skin.
Their common inhabitants are namely high levels of vitamins in A and C and some powerful antioxidants. They also help to increase the production of collagen and help keep your skin firm and supple.
The common fruits that help to boost your skin are mangoes, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon and grapefruits. All these hardly cost anything and can be easily purchased in any nearby supermarkets.
They can be all eaten as a delicious snack alone or cut into pieces as fruit salad. You can definitely eat them with cereals and as yogurt toppings. I'll give you a very simple recipe for a skin-protection meal.
Chop up strawberries into a spinach salad. Then drizzle on them with olive oil and some balsamic vinegar. It will become a very delicious and a healthy meal. You get the best of both worlds.
9. Eggs
The sulfer and lutein in eggs help to promote skin hydration and elasticity while the rich protein in them helps with cell regeneration. Eggs are one of the most commonly used ingredients in some beauty treatments.
You would have definitely heard about egg mask which you apply to the face and neck. You need to separate the whites from the yolks and whip them till they become frothy or creamy.
Then apply them gently in an upward movement and allow them to dry for about 15 minutes.
Rinse them off with warm water.
For consumption wise, you can boil fully or half. You must be mindful by eating scrambled and fried egg in moderation even though they are delicious.
So there you have it. The nine foods mentioned here are cheap and can be easily obtainable. They are probably the best natural source of natural ingredients used for home remedies.
You can have each one of them in your daily life and even possibly and easily a combination of them for you to lead a life with a well-hydrated skin for 24 hours. Dry skin for you will become a thing of the past.

Cure Chronic Adult Acne/Rosacea With a Soccerball!

Hello
I remember having acne for 10+ years now, and when the acne was kind of gone, I remember having rosacea as acne scars - my entire face bright red, and people asking me if I drank or something. I had rosacea for about 3+ years. I've tried many laser treatments (which don't work long term and are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE), and products, (most of which don't work).
I sincerely hope that my post becomes extremely helpful to those of you with adult acne (chronic) and rosacea; I remember being so socially embarrassed, tormented, etc. Also, I am not a doctor, but have asked many "experts" about this.
My breakthrough came when I fixed the root problem.
Let me explain.
In western medicine, the solution is to treat the symptoms. In eastern medicine, we treat the root cause. So what's the root cause for anything bad on our face? Our face is a mirror of our body, especially the digestive system.
This article is organized as thus:
I. The theory of the inner treatment.
II. The applied inner treatment.
III. The applied inner treatment.
IV. Misc
V. Conclusion
I. The theory of the inner treatment.
When our muscles are tense, or clogged, blood circulation is poor. We tend to recognize this in outer muscles, but most of us haven't realized that the same happens in our stomach region - the digestive system. There are 2 important things to realize here.
First, your liver, kidney, intestines, stomach, etc. all function to absorb nutrition and to get rid of toxins. When they don't function at 100%, your body must get rid of the toxins via the skin. If that doesn't work either (due to either poor general function of organs and/or too much accumulations of toxins), then it sort of stores them in what's called visceral fat (visceral fat is extremely bad for you). If you're tense and hard near these organs, it's bad. So, your blood circulation near these organs must be optimal for your body to healthy, and thus be reflected on your face.
Second, when your chest area is tense (emotionally, stress, pent-up anger/sadness, etc) your heart pumps less blood downward and more upward towards your chest and face. So think about it: less blood to your organs means less toxin removing function and less health, and more blood to your face means it will get redder (over time as capillaries expand from overuse of acne products) and more of the toxin carrying blood goes to your face (honestly I don't know whether this toxin carrying blood to face part is 100% true, but whatever the true theory, this whole thing worked miraculously for me and many others here in the orient). So now, not only does your stomach region have to be loose (smooth out the tension), the knot in your chest (usually from emotional issues) must be loosed as well.
There are many ways to accomplish both mentioned items above, but the cheapest and simplest, effective, (but also painful) way is "stomach pressure/massage". Around your belly button and in various regions, try sticking your fingers in real deep with your breathe out, and if you find parts that are hard or painful, it means that those regions are "enemies(?)" (as we call it, or something like that). You must really, really pressure/massage them out. (For chest, you can also beat your chest while saying "Ahh~~~" loudly and for a long time. Your chest should feel lighter)
By applying pressure, to the point where the object with which you're pressuring (usually this is done when you lying on top of the object) feels like it's nearly touching your spine (the near back end of your body), these tense regions will loosen: they will hurt A LOT. In the orient, these tense, hurting regions are "stored stresses that don't get expressed out, but stored in your body". But as you loose them, they will hurt less. Even by pressuring near your lower stomach (very important region in most yogas because all your digestive organs are near there), your body will get rid of all the tensions near that region, then travel towards your chest, head, legs, etc (outwards, basically) But you must do this HARD, AND A LONG TIME [They actually recommend around 30min~60min or more, but realistically, because it's so painful, I found myself doing it 5min at a time, then resting, etc. I also applied the pressure hard for short bursts while emptying my stomach of breathe and holding it in, instead of small intensity with long time, but I also alternated between the two methods].
So let's review:
When you apply hard pressure (and also heat) to your lower stomach and regions around it (the right of the belly button is your intestines, left is liver, up is stomach, etc) you will accomplish two things: loosen the tension near your digestive organs and thus significantly improve blood circulation, and release tension near your chest and eventually the face (the process works outwards). This will fix the long term root problem.
Not many people know this.
As a sign of good health, place your hand on your lower stomach. Is it cold? Are your feet and hands usually cold? This is a sign that your circulation is not good. If your lower stomach, near below belly button is warm and your hands and feet are warm, that's a good sign. You will also notice after a workout, most of your blood will go to your upper body and touching your lower stomach after your workout will feel very cold because the blood's not there anymore. Around 2/3 of your blood should be near your digestive system (in theory).
When I used laser or acne products on my face, I always found myself breaking out again, or the redness returning. This is because I've only been fixing the symptoms and the surface, but the root problem was still there. Fix this first, and then treat the surface.
II. The applied inner treatment.
The way that I treated my root problem was to buy a product that cost $300 - it is an object that is heated up and looks like a triangle. (It's expensive because the heating material are made of healthy material). I position it erect, put a towel over it (to adjust for the heat), and then lie on top of it with my lower stomach, or left or right of it, and try to breath deeply. When finished, your stomach region and possibly legs will feel completely fresh with "new blood". This is a great sign! You must do this much deeper than you think. The teachers have said that I should be able to "almost touch my spine and not feel pain" but perhaps you shouldn't go that far, haha. The heat "amplified" the pressure effect.
However, for most of you the cheaper and still effective way is to buy a soccer ball perhaps size 5 or 4 (what I use) or even a basketball(but basketballs seem a little big for me). Put the ball on a yoga mat (not necessary) and lie on it on your stomach. Then try to empty your stomach of breathe and relax while using your feet to make the ball massage your stomach deeply in a linear or circular manner, back and forth, back and forth. Try to go deep. Do this for 30min +. You should feel pain in certain areas. I hope I am making sense? Do this preferably about 1~2 hours after eating because when you are "healing" your stomach, your stomach will try to throw away the contents inside (the ones that aren't healthily digested. Believe it or not, not all of the food you eat go beyond your stomach, but remain there some time if your stomach isn't healthy. For the love of God, don't sleep after eating because this will strain your stomach tremendously)
Do this for a long time, or however you prefer. Do it for 1~3 months and see the results. As you improve your body circulation you may see several "side effects". You may get a "body ache" in some cases because this is your body healing itself. Your acne may temporary flare up also due to the healing process. You may feel hungrier because your body will demand more nutrients to heal your organs. You may sleep a lot more for a while due to the healing process. You may also notice that your excretion looks much healthier as well, especially when you pressure the right side (intestines).
III. The applied outer treatment.
For me, I've bought so many products before that I feel almost ashamed of myself. But the ones that worked tremendously well for me was oils: I bought cheap oils (the natural ingredients should be very very cheap, perhaps like $6) and mixed them. The carrier oils were half rosehip, and half walnut/grapeseed, and the essential oils were German chamomile, and something else like rose geranium (remember NEVER GO OVER THE 1~2% OR YOU WILL GET WORSE RESULTS. For my 60ml plastic bottle, this was 7 drops of each). Before taking a shower, I would wash my hands, then rub the oil on my chest and face gently. Then in the shower, I simply wash them off with soap. Be gentle on your face.
With oils, you may have to experiment to see which oils fit you and which don't. Enough on oils, there are many good posts on oils.
Also, you should eat well - vegetables, whole grain, less sugar and fats, etc. Drink less, stop smoking etc.
IV. MISC
Let me share a few other exercises. Stand tall and bend to the left/right. Then use your left fist, loosely closed, to beat your ribs and the area around it. The right side is your liver, and the left is the stomach. If it hurts / feels uncomfortable, it means you have too much tension there. You must release them. You can also massage the back of your neck at the base of your head, where it feels good, and also tap your head everywhere with your palm as a general massage.
V. Conclusion
I really, really, really, really know what it feels like to be the one with lots of acne and hideous redness, etc. I sincerely hope that this results in all of your health improvement. If you found it helpful, I hope this message gets spread in all English-speaking places and I hope that make-up companies and dermatologists stop scamming us for hundreds of dollars for products that don't work or don't have long term effect.
Anyway, hope everything goes well with you - please try it for 1~3 months daily until the regions don't hurt anymore. God Bless~!

How To Clear Up Body Acne

Many people who suffer from adult acne are used to seeing the occasional blemish pop up on their faces. While pimples are never a welcome sight, clearing them away is fairly straightforward with a proper arsenal of products and a healthy skin care routine. However, finding zits on other parts of your body - such as your chest, back and shoulders - can be horrifying, since they're not usually a common sight, and the thicker skin may not allow your usual acne treatment to work as well. Luckily getting rid of blemishes on your chest or back is not difficult, and with proper prevention habits, you can keep that bacne from coming back.
In all actuality, body acne and back acne are exactly the same as the outbreaks you see on your face. Blemishes are caused when pores are clogged, thanks to sebum, or oil, that your skin produces. Of course, bacne can be exacerbated by your daily habits; wearing tight-fitting clothing that is made of non-breathable fabrics can trap sweat and oil on the skin. Not cleansing the skin after sweating or exercising and leaving sweaty clothes on can also have this effect. In addition, some fabrics are just more irritating to the skin than others, and can prevent you from effectively getting rid of acne.
If you've noticed pimples on your back, arms or chest, how do you go about getting rid of acne fast? You may consider using a similar method as you would on your face, though your facial skin is more delicate than that on the rest of your body, so your bacne may be able to withstand stronger products.
When healing acne, the first thing you need to do is clear the area and make sure skin is as clean and free of debris - such as excess oil and dead skin cells - as possible. A good exfoliation is able to do this, so grab some body scrub and either a long-handled scrub brush for your back, or a clean, nubby washcloth for your chest or anywhere else you don't have trouble reaching. Apply the scrub to your brush or cloth, and massage the skin gently in circles. After a few minutes of light scrubbing, hop in the shower and rinse the scrub off your skin.
While you're in the shower, let the warm water open up your pores, and suds up with shower gel (or if your dermatologist has prescribed it, a medicated cleanser). Rinse off when you're done. Finish your regular shower routine, then pat dry with a clean towel.
Finally, apply a spot treatment such as a topical gel or healing gel on the area. If your bacne is in location where you have trouble reaching, you may need to wrap a clean washcloth around the end of your long-handled brush, slick some of your treatment onto the washcloth and rub it around on your back to cover it.

Hair Styling Products And Their Effect On Acne

You know to keep your hands away from your face when you're breakout-prone. You may have even noticed that things like your phone can cause pimples around your ears and jaw line when they're frequently used and seldom cleaned. It turns out; almost anything can have pimple-producing effects if it touches your face, including your hair. If you deal with adult acne and can't seem to kick it, you should take a look at your hair-care routine to see if there are any pore-clogging lurkers hidden in your hair styling products, or other hair habits that are causing you to break out.
Bad Hair Habit #1: Letting It Touch Your Face
Bangs seem like the perfect solution when you have forehead zits - they hide all evidence of breakouts! But bangs also can contribute to the spread of sebum, or oil, on your face, and can keep you from getting rid of acne. If you use hair moisturizer, sprays or mousses, they can leave residue on your skin, and if you have an oily scalp, allowing your locks to touch your skin can transfer that oil to your face, which can cause pimples. Solution: If you have bangs, pin them away from your face while your blemishes clear up, and avoid using oil-producing products on your 'do.
Bad Hair Habit #2: Choosing Chemical-Laden Products
Just like choosing to use organic facial skin care products, sticking to organic hair care products is the best thing you can do to prevent acne. Many hair shampoos and styling aids contain chemicals such as petroleum and sodium lauryl sulfate, both of which can cause an oily build up on skin if it brushes your face. In addition, if petroleum gets on your skin, it can prevent it from breathing properly, so it will be more difficult to get rid of blemishes. Solution: Organic beauty products don't contain these chemicals or any others, so when you use them on your locks, they won't cause acne if they come in contact with your face.
Bad Hair Habit #3: Not Cleansing Often Enough
Some people choose to only wash their hair every other or every third day. However, no matter how much a messy bun masks your dirty-mane secret, it doesn't change the fact that your hair's oils increase over time if you don't wash away the buildup. For this reason, it's really important to wash your tresses regularly. Solution: If you decide to skip a day every once in a while, pull your hair away from your face so you won't spread any excess oil. Finally, ensure you wash your hands after you apply mousses or serums so if you touch your face, the products won't get on your skin.

Acne Treatments to Heal Your Skin

If you have problem skin and none of the products in the store work, you might wish to try some acne treatments provided by estheticians at the spas in your city. They are worth trying before you ask your family doctor to refer you to a specialist in skin issues. On the other hand, you may wish to see both professionals in order to try various methods and determine what works best.
If your acne is mild, visit an esthetician. These skin care practitioners will examine your skin and from there will be able to make recommendations about which items would be the most fitting for it. They will also give you advice about what daily skin care regime would be most appropriate for your skin type. They will be able to administer deep cleansing treatments, which can help your skin to heal.
Estheticians can be found at various spa environments, including day spas, skin spas and medi-spas. They can sometimes be found working in dermatologists' offices under the physician's supervision. They are there to provide supportive acne treatments for patients.
Procedural acne treatments are used by dermatologists and estheticians alike. They are used for cases of mild to moderate to severe breakouts. They are often paired with other procedures such as systematic and topical treatments.
Comedo extractions can be performed by trained estheticians in a spa setting. Plugs in the pores are gently removed. These plugs develop in the pores due to cellular debris and sebum collection. When blackheads are removed, the occurrence of flare-ups is minimized. If you have a more serious problem beyond blackheads, such as lesions or cysts, a dermatologist may have to rid you of these in a surgical manner.
Light chemical peels offer acne treatments that exfoliate the skin. They can improve the condition of the skin because dead cells are removed, this leaving behind pores that are clear and not plugged up with dirt and debris.
Peels are made up of substances known as beta hydroxyl or glycolic acid. These chemical peels do not actually peel the skin. They simply facilitate the exfoliation process. They are used in conjunction with facials for clients who suffer from mild to moderate acne. For more serious conditions, a skin doctor should be consulted before a procedure is performed on an individual in a spa.
Microdermabrasion is an effective procedure for some skin eruptions and problems. It can be performed at a doctor's office or at a skin spa. A machine is used to discharge fine crystals over the skin's surface in a rapid manner. The purpose of it is to blast dead skin cells. It is a process that does not hurt at all. It offers a deep type of exfoliation and eliminates the plugs that are trapped in the pores. Microdermabrasion is most fitting for individuals who suffer from blackheads or whiteheads, or those who have acne that is not inflamed.
For acne treatments, New Jersey residents should consult with a dermatologist or esthetician. Visit the following to learn more about how these professional can improve the condition of your skin: http://www.parkercenterspa.net.

New Acne Treatment Options For You

If the old has not worked well for you, why not try the new? Up-and-coming new acne treatment may help you get rid of stubborn zits. The good news is that many options are available - recently released antibiotics and prescription creams are only some of the few you can try. What are your other alternatives?
Blue light therapy. At the heart of this new acne treatment is the belief that exposing skin to low-intensity blue light can destroy acne-causing bacteria. This procedure is painless, but it also requires multiple sessions to take effect. P. acnes (the culprit bacteria) grows quickly and thrives in all sorts of environs, even under the harshest of conditions. This is why the therapy has to be repetitive, and must be done over a definite time period.
A newer form of blue light therapy involves the combination of red and blue light. It is said to be more effective, and shows more dramatic results.
Diode laser therapy. This treatment focuses on destroying the sebaceous glands without harming your skin's outer layer. These glands are responsible for producing excess oil that causes most breakouts. The treatment itself is painful, so you will be given analgesics to minimize pain.
Heat energy and pulsed light therapy. This combination of heat energy and pulsed light is believed to do two things - shrink the sebaceous glands and at the same time, destroy P. acnes. More recently, the Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of green and yellow light heat and pulses to treat acne ranging from mild to moderate.
The good thing about light and laser-based therapies is that they are able to reach the skin's deeper layers without harming the surface. Before you jump onto the new acne treatment bandwagon, though, make sure you know precisely what you're in for. Talk to a dermatologist, and do your research. That way, you put yourself in a better position to make informed decisions.

Five Reasons Why The Raw Food Diet Is Recognized To Cure Acne

For those who suffer from acne and other embarrassing skin disorders, frustration and depression often haunt their lives. Doctors tell them one thing, naturopaths another and friends and family yet another. You have probably tried everything that people have told you to cure your acne, and yet you still have it - real bad. What are you doing wrong? Is there anything that will work? Yes, there is - and many people are starting to venture down an alternative pathway to cure their skin problems once and for all. This alternative yet astounding pathway is the raw food diet, which has been known to cure acne and repair skin to its former glory.
What Is The Raw Food Diet?
The raw food diet is a healthy lifestyle based primarily on raw plant-based foods. This diet consists of raw fruits, vegetables, salads, fresh juices, berries, sprouts, avocado, nuts and seeds.
Why Does The Raw Food Diet Cure Acne?
The raw food diet has many amazing benefits that most modern medications and popular diets do not come close to. Here are five reasons why the raw food diet is recognized to get rid of severe acne:
1. There are no fatty heavy meats, cheeses, butter, and other hard-to-digest animal products that clog up the digestive system due to their high saturated fat content.
2. Fresh fruits and vegetables are primarily water-based foods, which are easy on your digestive system. This means that your body can focus on healing itself, rather than spending all of its energy digesting food. When your body is given the opportunity to heal itself, you will notice considerable improvements in your skin, face, hair, nails and weight!
3. Fats on the raw food diet are good fats: unsaturated fats (especially monounsaturated fat), which are found in avocados, nuts and seeds. These fats help to nourish and repair the skin.
4. The living food lifestyle allows the body to constantly detoxify and regenerate itself without any road blocks caused by heavy foods. This means that after complete detoxification has been achieved, your acne will cease to exist and should not re-appear if you keep on eating plenty of raw food in your diet.
5. The raw food diet is nutrient-rich, which means that your body will be fed an ample supply of healthy proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fibre. This is the opposite of many processed overcooked foods today - many which can be described as nutrient-dead.
The Evidence:
It is certainly helpful to read the many reasons why the raw food diet is recognized to cure acne and other skin disorders, but it is even more helpful to hear of success stories of it achieving this. Briefly I will relate two:
Joy Houston (adult cystic acne)
Joy Houston suffered from severe cystic adult acne for many years. Her skin became radiant and acne-free after she became a raw foodist, which is very encouraging for those who also suffer from cystic acne.
Julie (teenage acne)
Another success story is that of a young woman named Julie. During her late teenage years, Julie was plagued with severe acne which caused her much embarrassment, a low self-esteem, depression and panic attacks. Julie tried every medication out there but she both mentally and physically worsened as a result. Julie then heard about the living food diet and readily changed her diet to mostly raw fruits, vegetables and living salads. Her skin healed very quickly as a result and her happiness levels also increased.
So if you do suffer from acne, whether you are a teenager or an adult - be assured that the raw food diet has alleviated many people from their suffering, and it could definitely be of help to you too. Because of its nutrient-rich properties and detoxification triggering process, the raw food diet has helped many people in the world cure their health problems
